Wonders of the World

Inauguration

Good day to you dear friends. Let me begin by thanking God for giving this wonderful gift of life to me and to each one of us. I was thinking what to share on this especial (we need to remember that everyday is God's gift to us and so it is especial) day. I thought of speaking to all of us about ‘The Seven Wonders of the World.’ Can anyone tell me which are the present ‘seven wanders of the world?’. (1. Egypt’s great Pyramids, 2. Taj mahal, 3. Grand canyon, 4. Panama canal, 5. Empire state building, 6. St. Peter’s Basilica, 7. China’s great wall). Do you agree with this answer? How many of you agree with this answer? But I don’t agree with this answer. I am totally confused, because I find myself with a big list of wonders. Finally I have to select the best ones among them and so the seven wonders of the world for me are; “1. To see,  2. to hear, 3. To touch, 4. To taste, 5. To feel, 6. To laugh and 7. To love.”
So my dear friends, wonders of the world are within us, we need to realize them. Let us be the cause of happiness for other people and let them know that they are loved. Let us thank God for blessing us with these wonders, and be sensitive to the needs of others and be sensitive towards our mother earth.

Gratitude

Every life on earth is sacred and so one way to honour the sacredness of life is to be “Grateful,”- grateful to God, to our own self, and to others. Grateful to God, because he is the giver of life, grateful to oneself, because to honour life, we must start with our own self and then only we can honour life in others.

We need to be grateful to God for everything, even for the air we breathe and the water we drink. For each new day we must be grateful to Him. Terri Guillemets says, “As each day comes to us refreshed and new, so does my gratitude renew itself daily. The breading of the sun over the horizon is my grateful heart downing upon a blessed world.” So let us renew our gratitude daily and live our lives more meaningfully.
Celebration

Life is boring if we fail to celebrate it. We do not have to wait for a birthday, a holiday or for any other feast but we need to learn to celebrate this very moment. What is celebration? Martha Washington says, “Think of the magic of that foot, comparatively small, upon which your whole weight rests. It is a miracle, and the dance is a celebration of that miracle.” So let us not wait for an extra ordinary thing to happen in our lives but celebrate each and every moment of our lives.
